The Pefone EarBuds Pro are housed in a beautifil pearly-white case with an indicator light on the front and a USB Type-C port on the bottom. The charging cable and a bag of eartips along with the much-needed quick start guide (which you'll need), complete the setup.
In testing the Pefone EarBuds Pro, I realized a quick connection to Bluetooth on my device by simply opening the case in order to pair it (green light on, it uses the latest Bluetooth 5.3 spec.). A long press on the right earbud elicited an Asian female voice saying: "transparancy mode on" another long press gave me an: "on ANC mode" response. This blocked out a good portion of the fan noise I had on for demonstration purposes. A long press on the right earbud activated Google Assistant on my phone (or SIRI on iPhones).
Listening to a K-pop song 'My Turn' by Cravity, I was surprised at how punchy the sound was, with deep bass in just the right places, bringing it almost up there in quality with my full-sized headphones. I was shocked at how good they sounded. That's a lot of value considering its competing with their supposed higher-tier products.
Luckily, the perfect-sized pair of eartips were already installed for me, which allowed me to begin listening to content immedeatly. I love the "Designed in New Jersey, Assembled in China" branding. Somebody's been paying smart attention to Apple!
The instruction booklet I mentioned earlier will come in play as it will take time to memorize all of the functions. I won't list them all here, just be sure to save them. I did not test the phone function as I will be using these mainly to listen to music and podcasts (Joe Rogan, anybody?), but the function is there if you need it.
With up to 6.5 hours of listening time, an additional 35 hours being recharged by the case and a standby time of 260 hours, you'll have plenty of juice to listen to your content on the go. As with many, battery-powered devices such as these, I recommend springing for two of them, so you always have one charged up and ready to go.
I found the Pefone EarBuds Pro to be an incredible value, and a 5-star pair of earbuds!
